Because of the serious spreading of COVID-19, we have to bring the office to our house, students have to learn online. It seem that there is a lack of working or learning environment at home, if you want to be productive and get organized, self-discipline and a strict routine are essential. Here are 10 essential things to take into account from my experiences.
.Choose a separate room for yourself, then you can quickly switch from office and home. If there is someone else in your household working form home and you are sharing the same space, establish simple boundaries regarding your working hours, working space and breaks.
.Make a comfortable environment for yourself or your families. If you need to take calls, listen to music out loud or bring hot drinks and food to desk during working hours, you should notify beforehand to make the other person feel comfortable, as it can be hard to adapt to work from home while lacking the proper space and conditions.
.Make cleaning a top priority during your first few days working at home. An untidy, unorganized environment generates high level of stress, reduces productivity and overall shifts your focus to the mess instead of the work in front of you. Even morning is the best time, it is better to do work in the morning and put everything away at the end of the day.
.Schedule a daily plan and a weekly plan first, do not forget to set time reminders, even priority so that you can arrange time better, track the progress and never miss any important schedules. Such as to do list of work part, appointments, cooking meals, cleaning house, take a regular snap …
.Make sure to start, pause and finish working at the same time every day, and if possible, using the same routine you would in regular office hours.
.Don’t wear PJ during your working time though it is comfy .
.Cooking meals in advance in case of generating stress during the break time.
.Walk your dog at the same routine as before, it is better to set a reminder in your computer or phone, then you do not need to constantly worry whether they need to go outside. It is recommended to free more time in the morning before you start working, to play and do a bigger workout with your dog, exercise yourself and your dog together, which probably make it sleep and feel calm.
.If you live in a small space, remember to stretch frequently, open up the windows and let the fresh air in or even engage in super quick five minute eye exercise or body movements just to move and relax a little.
.Finally, do not forget to drink plenty of water during the day.
