Preparing such a list can be a simple affair. First thing every morning, you should write down a listing of the tasks you need to get done. For many of the tasks, there may be one or more sub tasks which are associated with the task. So list them under the primary task.
Some of the tasks may be business related and others personal. Either way they should all be included. Then review each task and assign a priority. You can assign letters to them if desired. For example an A priority is task which must get done that day. B priority tasks are those which should be finished that day if possible and C priority tasks can get done within a reasonable period of time.
Once you have set priorities, you should then rewrite the list by placing the highest priority tasks first. Try to include as much helpful detail as possible in the list. Now keep in mind that you can establish this list manually or use a helpful and convenient piece of software. Either way it is very important to establish a list which clearly defines the tasks and orders them in their proper priority.
Then as go about your day, mark off tasks as they get completed. Again keep in mind that many of the tasks will have sub tasks associated with them so those will have to be completed and marked off as they get done.
At the end of the day, you should review the daily to do list and determine which tasks were successfully completed and which ones were not. Transfer the unfinished tasks to your list for the next day.
It is a good idea to also assess which tasks were completed on time and which ones were not. Try to determine what things needed to be done to allow this to occur. In this way it can help you to become more effective and organized over the long.
